What The Surfer Said

22 May

“I used to feel so discouraged and depressed when things didn´t work out. Like, when I´d be working hard but with no real success. No opportunities coming my way. But then I realised I was doing something that I´d never done on a surfboard: I was trying to control the ocean. Which is impossible. The ocean has its own ways and you just have to be patient and confident that at one point this beautiful A-frame wave will appear, and then you have to be ready for it. So that´s how I´m living my life now. And that´s what I tell my friends when they´re feeling down: there´s a perfect wave on the way. It may take a while before it reaches you. But you better be ready for it.”
